Recreational Debut is a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping student-athletes market their skills to college coaches across the United States and Canada.

Our journey began in 1984 when a young student-athlete came to us with one dream — to attend college and play basketball. We accepted the challenge and helped him earn a full basketball scholarship to a college in Florida. That success changed lives and inspired a mission that has now impacted student-athletes for decades.

After more than 34 years of privately helping athletes pursue scholarship opportunities, we decided to open this incredible program to everyone.

We have seen far too many talented athletes go unnoticed simply because they did not understand the importance of marketing themselves. Many still believe the old myth:

“If you are talented and work hard, college coaches will automatically find you.”

The reality is different.

More than 7 million students participate in high school sports each year, yet only about 6% continue competing at the NCAA level. Talent alone is no longer enough. Student-athletes must separate themselves from the competition with exposure, presentation, and a strong recruiting strategy.

That’s where Recreational Debut comes in.

We provide student-athletes with the opportunity to have their information placed in front of more than 2,000 college coaches throughout the USA and Canada. One of the key advantages of our program is the acknowledgment letter from former professional athletes. When a former professional athlete recognizes a student-athlete’s talent and potential, coaches are compelled to pay attention.

Today’s college coaches have limited recruiting budgets and very little time. They rely heavily on trusted organizations like Recreational Debut to help identify quality student-athletes with talent, character, and potential.
